Ways to use up hard ciders

Astur | Jul 6, 201511:31 AM     27

A very kind neighbor gave me a large number of hard apple ciders (Angry Orchard in this case) that weren't to their household liking. I am looking for anyones suggestions of ways to incorporate them into anything else to use them whether into other drinks or cooking, baking etc. Searched on chowhound already so might not have tried the right term combo.

Unlike beer these are very sweet, more like apple juice, so the concern is doing something that might make that overwhelming.

I can think of adding it as liquid within a bread recipe, sweet rolls etc. Considering poaching some fruit. Wondering about maybe more savory ideas. Main courses in particular?

If you use hard cider for something already maybe please mention if it is something more juice like in its taste and texture vs more like apple cider, flavored, etc.
