How Water Boilers - Keeping them Clean

Anyone have a hot water boiler - hotpot.
Had a Zoji, it died. Did not end up replacing it.
Newbown in the house, and I'm thinking about buying one.

Pet peeve is just the buildup that does eventually happen over time.
Yes, citric acid wash will clean the inside.
SOMETIMES, it does require a wipe after it's been soaking in citric wash.

Bearing that statement (a wipe), how do you clean the passageway from the water tube to output ? Just saying...

I mean, I would dispense the citric water, but that may necessarily clean the inevitable ~scum~ if you want to coin it as such, that may build up in this area which I cannot do a little mechanical ~wipe~ to truely clean it.
