I noticed that my convection oven tends to cook Turkey way faster then the recipe states it will cook it. This year I decided to put a bowl of water in the oven to check if the temperature in my oven is accurate. The stove/oven is a GE Profile with TrueTemp and it has a digital input for the temperature. I set the oven at 225 degrees and after 3 hours I checked the temperature of the water with a prob and it registered 140 degrees only. At this point the temperature of my Turkey was 150 degrees. If anything, my oven should be hotter than what it says it is and not cooler. My question is how come the water that is cooking in my oven only register 140 degrees after 3 hours when the oven was set at 225 degrees?
