Washington DC with small kids and dog, coming from New York City

brandeeno | Oct 17, 201612:41 PM     15

In two weeks the wife and I are visiting Washington DC with our 3.5 and 1.5 year olds, and a dog. We are true foodies and need chow worthy restaurants, for breakfast, lunch and dinner. They need to be family friendly establishments, and extra bonus points if we can go with the dog. Keep in mind our littlest can get rowdy at times. We don’t need anything fancy and love holes in the wall, but we do need places with bathrooms and chairs and where they won’t snicker at us when we ask for more napkins for our kids.

We will be staying in the Mt. Vernon Triangle area… which looks like about 9 blocks directly north of the air and space museum. We will have a car. It would be great to know nearby spots of breakfast, lunch and dinner as well others within the common limits of the most popular tourist areas. I do know we will go by the white house, the WWII, air and space, and the capitol so far. Generally, we will be up by 7am and wanting to be in bed by 8pm

Side note: how dog friendly is Washington DC? Are they allowed in the parks, museums, etc….
