Washington, D.C. for Shabbat

AdinaA | Jan 13, 201107:16 AM

Jewish families willing to do a museum on Shabbat afternoon should keep in mind that D.C. is a very comfortable place to spend Shabbat because there is an eruv, the Smithsonian and National Gallery are free and you can daven at Kesher Israel. No Shabbat restaurants at present, but you can have the hotel put a mini fridge in your room for about $10 or $15 a night. You don't go to D.C for the kosher food, although if you are wiling to schlep out to the suburbs Pomegranate is very good. But there is often an exhibit at one of the museums that is worth the journey.
