Warsaw Cafe

Thanks to all who answered my 18th & Spruce question. Went to the WArsaw Cafe tonight, because a couple in our group were going to the opera after dinner.

I think my husband and our friends thought I was weird. The food was so like my Grandmother's, I was blissed out.

Pierogies with veal and mushroom filling, sour cream, scallion--not greasy, crisp, tasty filling, tasted like more . Appetizer portion was quite large at $6.

I don't know why I chose the stuffed cabbage for dinner. Mine is delicious, and I have never liked it out. Well, I like their recipe better than mine. No rice in the delicate meat filling, subtle tomato sauce, tender cabbage... AGain, tasted like more, but there were only 2. Came with lovely mashed potatoes and some baked sliced apple, for $13.95. I scraped the plate and was disgusting.

Chose a chocolate flourless torte for dessert. Similar to my Mother's Julia Child cake. WAs I glad I didn't have to share.

I'll be going back, perhaps on Dec. 4 when we go to that concer.
