Okay, it isn't exactly chow for chow's sake. But I need your knowledge, people! I'm in a writing mentoring program, and my teenage mentee and I are looking for a new place to meet now that school's out. Requirements: A public place. Safe.

A coffeehouse is good. A restaurant that doesn't mind two people not ordering much (depending on time of day, I'll bite) and sitting at a table for 1.5-2 hours, both writing.

I'll even take chain restaurants. The thing is neither of us are from the area, but she can take greenline and I can drive down the 605 to meet her. I cannot have her as passenger in my car.

Near the Norwalk station:
Taqueria Mariscos La Palma
El Eden Authentic Mexican Food
Castillo's Mexican Grill

Have you been to any of these places? Know what they're like?

There are several donut places. (Golden West Donuts, Dk Donuts, Do you know which have seating and might be likely?

Near the Lakewood Station:
Lots of choices near the corner of Imperial Hwy/Lakewood:
Jenny's Donuts & Croissants
Sparky's Burgers
Winchell's Donuts (prolly has seating?)
La Perla Del Mar
Little Caesar's

Anything recommendations you can provide would be so appreciated!
