I wanted to like Chez Nous but I didn't

I wanted to really like it because we are in that area often and they have a huge menu but I wasn't that impressed with what I ate and the place had a weird vibe to it. It might have been because we were there early in the evening before the dinner crowd really arrived, it just seemed very sad.

I had a chicken pot pie that was very generous on the chicken but the veggies were weak and the sauce was thin. They used shredded carrots instead of pieces of carrot and that just didn't work. The salad with their house dressing was tasty.

We bought a few fruit tarts to take home for dessert and they weren't great. The fruit was very bitter and the crusts too thick.

I was thinking maybe it would be better for breakfast so I am willing to try again. Anything stand out there thats worth going back for?
