Wanokura Restaurant in Milford (Metrowest)

I have been looking for interesting places to eat in and around Milford (I am a DC hound). I found a couple Brazilian places, but not much more. Last night we had sushi at Wanokura and I thought I would write it up for reference for the future as it has not been reviewed at all that I could find in Boston or New England boards.

Having said that, three of us ordered all nigiri sushi and a few rolls. The rolls were fine, spicy tuna, spicy scallop and spider rolls, were basic fare, not my favorite at any place, but we were three. The nigiri was very good, nothing creative (fake shiso leaves, no fresh wasabi, etc), but very fresh. All the fish was very fresh, we had tuna, salmon, yellow tail, fluke, striped bass, flying fish roe with quail eggs, fresh water eel and salmon. The fluke was awesome, sweet and very fresh. Every thing was very good quality and fresh. The striped bass was fresh but rather chewy, but I think that is a trait of the fish not of the quality of the sushi. The tuna was excellent, yellow tail was delicious, fresh and sweet. My only gripe was the unagi which were cut too small and a little over cooked.

The atmosphere is nice, clean and sparse. The staff were attentive and nice. I think overall this is a great spot out here in the boondocks for people trying to escape the chains.
