Wallse Lunch report

Four (4) of us had Sunday lunch at Wallse and it was very nice. Three (3) of us opted for the Austrian classics while one of my friends opted for a brunch item. We started by sharing a basket of pastries. A good variety and most were very good and then also shared an order of white asparagus and fingerling potatoes in a light béarnaise sauce. Excellent dish.

I had the wiener schnitzel as recommended by Nina W. Thanks, it was a great one. Although not as thin as most are. Actually, the table next to ours asked me if it was good, because it was kind of on the thick side. There were actually pockets of air between the breading and the veal. But very tender and good. It was served with a side of cucumber potato salad and lingonberries. Yummy, a little heavy for lunch, but I couldn’t resist. My friends had the rabbit salad, some kind of meat platter and egg white omelet with caramelized apples. All dishes were fine, but there was no way that the omelet consisted of only egg whites. The consistency was that of super soft bread pudding and was very sweet. My friend commented that it was like having dessert. It was too sweet and I definitely liked it having only 1 forkful of it.
