Visiting from Los Angeles, did some barhopping in Adams-Morgan, got really hungry while walking back to my hotel near Convention Center. Assumed there must be something open in Chinatown. Three places open on H Street, walked into one called Szechuan something or other. Sadly, no actual Szechuan dishes on the menu. Waitress suggested ox-tail noodle soup from the Chinese only page. Really nothing but gristle on the six or seven pieces I fished out of the broth. Where should I have gone instead?
P.S. Went to Ben's Chili Bowl for half-smoke, chili only, this morning at 2:00 am. Very satisfying.
P.P.S. Breakfast at Old Ebbitt Grill on Friday, nearly every guy in there was wearing a blue oxford and khakis. What is the significance of this?
