We are two New Yorkers who love good food and walking new cities. Plus the pleasures of serendipity (Let's trky this place! etc.)But most people have told us that
even for people who have walked New York and Moscow, New Orleans is better cabbed.
Is this really true of all neighborhoods? Having patiently explained to relatives and friends for years, that YES, you CAN ride the subways, even at night
if you know where you are and know some basic rules, the "usual story" about NO sounds a bit exaggerated.
We plan to stay in the French Quarter, hit Uglesich's and some of the other places recommended on this site.
Can we walk to any of them?
