Walkers, Tribeca

I am a Walkers regular and have always loved this place – the patrons, the food and the staff....Last night was a very different story.

I arrived there with my daughter and friend for a quick dinner, Sun, March 4 at 6pm – which happens to be my birthday. My evening was marred by an (at first) inattentive and then (afterwards) rude waitress.

I ordered tuna niçoise - rare. It arrived very well-done. Our waitress (Brittany) never came by to inquire about the food but the hostess did. She took it back and it was returned icy cold – blue - not rare. I put it aside and ate the salad.

The waitress was no where in sight. The hostess brought more bread for my friend and recognized that my tuna was unacceptable.

Things got weird - which is so NOT like Walkers!

The hostess apologized and offered to take the tuna off our bill.

The waitress said the hostess didn't know what she was doing – she wasn't a waitress – and wasn't in charge. They could offer a glass of wine but could not take the salad off our bill since we were taking the tuna home. I offered to leave the tuna - and the waitress said it was too late that we'd already paid the bill?!?!?!?

I think the hostess did the best she could. As for the waitress....I've never seen her there before - hope I never see her there again.

Oh and a weirder turn - the waitress charged us for my daughter's juice (which was included in a kid's meal) and, when I inquired about it, brought $4 back – in cash?!

What a weird night at Walkers!
