Best Walk-in Restaurants for family with 2 kids (Tokyo or Kyoto)

saltysnack | Nov 5, 201802:53 PM     1

My family (husband and I and daughters 6 and 8) is making our first trip to Tokyo in April. We are staying at a condo hotel in Ginza for 6 nights, so unfortunately won't have a concierge. We love food, and the kids are good adventurous eaters. While I may attempt to secure a reservation, I know I'm going to need a good go-to list of solid walk-in restaurants: ones that are still wonderful and don't just cater to kids. I've noticed a few of the Michelin-starred restaurants don't even allow kids under 12, so I definitely need some help. Price range is less a hurdle. We love sushi, but want to explore well beyond it, and are as comfortable with fast-casual as we are with fussy fine dining. Any neighborhoods of Tokyo work, not just Ginza! We're also doing 3 nights in Kyoto, so recs there would be so appreciated too!
