no, not the pbs program! i took a quick stroll around today to see whats up lately.
first up, what the heck is up with VENTO? they took over the entire bow and west side of the iconic triangle building (14th street at 9th avenue) with outdoor seating. the seating is a huge, major disruption to pedestrians. i wonder if its even legal?
second up, is whats up at the corner of washington and little west 12th. what looks like a big restaurant called HIGHLINE is going in.
third up, is a cute spray painted snapple ad near there. nice to see the bx tats cru got some ad work. lots of redevelopment on washington hard to say what it all is.
fourth up, i heard someone mention there is a bar now open in the gansevoort hotel, not the roof deck. anyone know bout that?
fifth up, for the ladies the calypso store is open.
sixth up, BIVIO is booming, as was just about every place in the area. even stodgy BAR & BOOKS seems to have picked up some steam.
seventh up and lastly, the grand old former garber's hardware store is getting divided up and may be getting a coffeeshop (in an area saturated with coffeeshops???). however, i saw a stop work order pasted on a door there today so who knows?
