I'll be visiting from New York next week and am hoping to eat at least one dinner at a Chinese restaurant either in Chinatown or within a 20-30 minute walk of the Marriott on Fourth Street. I'll be dining by myself, and I'd like a place where that won't be a problem. Ideally, the restaurant would have a reasonably priced menu containing some dishes that are unusual or at least not stereotypically common and where I do not have to speak or read Chinese in order to have access to those selections. As long as the food is well prepared and the restaurant is clean and not painfully noisy, decor is unimportant. Even an interesting "hole in the wall" would be acceptable. Friendly and helpful service would be a definite plus.
