Hi,
I am from Manhattan and am visiting AZ for about 10 days. Wondering if anyone has any recommendations for the best restaurants and bakeries (love dessert) in flag, phoenix and Tucson. Money isn't an issue. Any help much appreciated.
For Mexican Seafood I would go to Mariscos Chihuahua on Grande in Tucson. In Phoenix, Richardson's Cuisine of New Mexico.
For dessert in Tucson it is hard to beat the Cup Cafe http://hotelcongress.com/food/
The food is darn good too
A place you may enjoy is the Mercado San Augustin. Restaurants and Mexican bakeries set around a beautiful courtyard seating area. Seis is very good Mexican food, great for breakfast with some of the best coffee in Tucson from Presta (used to be Stella) across the courtyard. Your sweet tooth will be satisfied with excellent Mexican baking from La Estrella, or, later in the day, Dolce Pastello for lush Tres Leches cake. For dinner, either Seis, or, more upscale, Augustin Kitchen. The Mercado is at the western end of the Street car route which could be useful.
