Have not been to St. Louis for a few years. Will be staying at Residence Inn downtown. Will be getting in late afternoon and would like a good food/bar for the first night. Could be a great dive or more upscale, either one with interesting beers, wines, and different/interesting appetizers.

Second night would like a more upscale downtown meal.

Last time we were in St. Louis we were in the Clayton area. We had lunch at a little pasta place in Clayton, and dinner at Sidney Street Cafe, and another dinner at Acero. Enjoyed them all. I've always wondered about Tony's. However the whole formal aspect turns us off. We love good food, especially great pasta in St. Louis, but prefer more of a bistro atmosphere.
