visiting Seattle with friends

I'm sure this isn't a new request since this is what Chowhound is all about. My son is getting married in the Seattle area in early August. I'll be there with a group of friends...we'll also travel up to Vancouver for a few days. I've been to Seattle many times but many of my friends haven't, so I'll end up as tour guide...again. Anyway, I want this to be the best experience for all of us. I don't want to spend a lot of money at every meal, but I don't mind going to one really nice place. My son is a chef who once worked for Tom Douglas so I'm already familiar with that group. I'm from South Texas so I'm not interested in anything Mexican...I can get that anytime at home. I've been to Ray's Boathouse, Etta's, Palace Kitchen, Ivar's, Tavolota...Where are some places I can proudly take my friends for breakfast, lunch, or dinner? How about Vancouver? Any suggestions will be appreciated.
