Visiting Manhattan and could use some advice..

**Posted this yesterday, but needed to do a little editing..

Visited Manhattan for the first time in November of '06 while throwing
my brothers Bachelor Party... Had dinner at STK, and came away disappointed...

Anyway, my brother and I along with our wives are coming down again
this spring with hopes of better luck in the dining department and was
looking for a little help. We'll be in town for two nights and figure to
aim for a high end steakhouse one night, and maybe an upscale
Italian/Mediterranean the other. Money is not an issue, but atmosphere, service,
vibe, and obviously food is very important. Also location is important,
but not a deal breaker... After dinner we'd surely like to stroll
around and find a nice bar/lounge to kick back at.

So far, just reading these board has been a huge help....what a
resource! Here's where I am so far. Concerning steakhouses, I'm of the
understanding that Peter Lugar's is probably the best steak in NY, but
probably aren't down with making the trek.. So with that in mind, I'm thinking
about BLT Steak, BLT Prime, Quality Meats, Porter House, and Blair
Perrone.. But would love some other suggestions.. I've been using the Open
Table site but understand there are many establishments not listed
there. Here in Boston, I've eaten at S&W, Capital Grille, Morton's, Ruth's
Chris countless times, so figured I'd stay away from those while in
NY. From those who have been to both, what are some of the differences
between BLT Steak, and BLT Prime.. I know that Prime focuses on dry
aging, but how does the atmosphere differ? Is one have a better room then
the other?

As for the Italian, I've hardly scratched the surface.. I loved the
menu at Del Posto, but I happened to marry a somewhat finicky woman, so
she squashed that idea.

Also, we'll be hopefully enjoying some great Deli's for lunch during
our stay. Any that stand out in Midtown East I should check out??

Thanks for taking the time to read my post, and thanks in advance for
any suggestions. I'm looking forward to them.
