hhc | Apr 26, 2013 06:00 PM

I read in Edible Hawaiian Islands that Tuddie Purdy owns Purdy's Natural Macadamia Nut Farm, a hidden must-stop in Moloka'i's central Ho'olehua. Macadamias are produced yr-around! He said his nuts are healthier then Mauna Loa brand - healthier, no additives, oils, preservatives, no cholesterol & a source of monounsaturated fats, fiber & minerals. His trees grown without pesticides or fertilizers. They also sell mac nut honey!

Mauna Loa brand has commercial operation on the Big Island, world's largest mac nut retailers.

Purdy's Natural Macadamia Nut Farm open from magazine:
Closed: Sun & Mon
Tues-Fri 9:30am-3:30pm
Sat 10am-2pm
then website said Sun & Holiday by appt; Mon open 9:30-3:30, better to call before going! 808-567-6601
