Had a banh mi craving today but didnt feel like driving to dorchester to our usual ba le. so went to try lu's sandwich shop in chinatown.
the beef banh mi was good, but it was missing something that i couldnt really pinpoint. what i did basically was add some of the fish sauce that came with the fried spring roll to my banh mi, and then it tasted better. i guess my banh mi was originally lacking fish sauce.
they did toast the bread first.
but, i think i will still go to dorchester ba le for my banh mi fix. in addition to banh mi, they have the silk dofu in sugar/ginger sauce that i love and the sugar cane juice that i occasionally order.
if anyone knows where i can find this silk dofu dessert other than in dorchester, pls share your info!
