Vintage stoneware made in Japan- does it contain lead?

whippetgood | Jul 22, 201510:29 AM     2

Have bought a set of vintage stoneware from Japan. It looks to be in very good condition.

The markings on the back say of the brown flowers say " The Classics created by Hearthside Hand Painted Stoneware, Castlewood made in Japan- Safe in oven and Microwave, Safe in your dishwasher".

The yellow floral set simply says " Stoneware No. 30119 Made in Japan".

I got a complete set of the yellow flower one for under $20 and a service for 4 with a serving bowl and serving platter in the brown floral.

I've googled till my eyes hurt and can find nothing about if these might contain lead. We wash by hand. Anyone have any advice apart from lead testing?
