Finally made it to Vinny's at Night. Though we were told we'd have a 45 minute wait, we were seated almost immediately (I think someone who'd put their name in didn't come back, and a two-top opened up.) Bread was presented promptly -- warm, with a nice chewy crust-- and got us off to a good start. My husband had the (deservedly) highly praised double porkchop with vinegar peppers - his only regret was ordering pasta rather than mashed potatoes, which he felt would have been a better mop for the sauce. I ordered the housemade sausage with rabe (rabi on their menu), served over homemade fusilli, with olive oil and garlic. Though the portion was huge, and the fusilli was great, I was sorely disappointed with the sausage, which can only be described as beyond bland. I wasn't necessarily expecting anything terribly spicy, but it was difficult to detect even a hint of spice or flavor other than that of the meat. Service was friendly and efficient, and the place has a real neighborhood atmosphere. I'd definitely go back, but would order something else.
