We had a good dinner a few weeks back at The Vineyard in Kitsilano -- crunchy, chewy fried calamari and two greek combo plates, not spectacular but very well done and a good value. Service was friendly and efficient.

But the real draw is the reserve wine list that won an award of excellence from the Wine Spectator - lots of older vintages and cult wines at fair prices (which doesn't necessarily mean cheap - we had a 1996 Barolo with our greek combo plates, setting a new personal record for wine as a percent of the total bill).

They also have early-week dinners that include a bottle of BC wine, $30 total for two. If I lived in the neighborhood I'd be there once a week.
