Vinegary Ribs?

Richard | Apr 19, 2004 03:16 AM

When I was a kid in the late 1960's my folks would always order slabs of ribs from the now-defunct Crawford's store BBQ deli. My brothers and I distinctly remember these ribs as being maybe the best we've ever had for the simple reason that they were barbequed with an overpowering---but wonderfully delicious---tangy vinegar/tomato sauce that had a mouth-watering aroma. Can any rib expert out there tell me if that was a special style of ribs and more importantly where I could find ribs with that kind of sauce?
