My recent rec of Off Vine's "comfort food with sparkle" rec'd some dissents, so Ms G & I ventured back to re-evaluate. Result: everyone's correct. The pork chop (my personal "meatloaf" in the realm of comfort food) in an apple sauce was as good as it gets--flavorful, succulent, ah, sparkly. Ms G's sauteed Mex sea bass was, on the other hand, barely edible. Soggy like it hadn't been properly defrosted & smothered in a mound of melon--yup, cantaloupe--this was a dish that did not work on any level. The experience was somewhat like the last one, where the duck breast was excellent & the overly peppered blackened sea bass was not. Bottom line: meat, si; fish, no.
