Recently went to Vincent's to have what was the best fried calamari and their hot sauce BUT........total disappointment
Calamari was tough as rubber, small calamari rings didn't help when you over cook it
Also while their hot sauce had their typical richness to it IT WAS NOt HOT!!!
Medium at best
This place used to be second to none....now they have a lot to learn on what it takes to create great fried calamari
I haven't been to Gambinos in New Brunswick NJ for over 10 years but when I went it was at the level of the original Vincent's back in the day
Large tender lightly coated (bread crumbs) with a HOT sauce that matched the old Vincent's
Is Gambinos still open and if they are is their fried calamari the same when the original owners (Tony and his brother) had the place back in 2000?
