Hi all -- I'm moving into a new house and we're buying new appliances for the kitchen. I just finished an intense cooking school semester and I loved cooking on the high BTUs of the professional ranges we used there. I'd like to splurge on a Viking for our house, but my DH saw the lousy reviews (mainly due to poor repair histories, it seems) that Viking and other high end ranges got in Consumer Reports and thinks getting one of these babies will be a waste of money, to say the least.
BTW, my husband loves to cook and I think he'd be shocked at how great it is to cook using the high heat if we got something high end. But is it like owning a really expensive sports car that needs constant tweaking?
Any opinions out there? Experiences good or bad?
