Viking Cookware

Have any hounds used this? What is your experience with it. Does V outsource its mfg to AC (they look quite similar)?

Didn't even know about the Viking line til I came to visit in Maine. Doing some cooking for family while I'm here, I of course have to supplement their batterie de cuisine.:) In the process I've discovered this other line of promising cookware: 7 ply constuction Viking. Rather heavier, but, surprisingly, not THAT much more than the the AllClad.

Now the one piece of equipment that I do need is a highly responsive 10-12" skillet. I have an 8" skillet and an 11" sauteuse AC, both of which I'm moderately satisfied with.

But I've been putting off making the purchase. I can't help thinking the extra heft of 2.5mm copper (ss-lined) would better give me the combination of responsiveness AND heat distribution that one wants in a saute pan. Now that I've seen the Viking pan, another contender has entered the field. But for the price of the Viking, I could easily order the copper from Dehillerin. And no, shining up copperware doesn't matter to me. I've grown to love its unpolished patina.
