New Vietnamese Pho99 West LA

Pho 99 Noodle Bar Grill opened Thursday, 7/15. Tried it today. Place is very modern and nice, in a strip center on Wilshire near Granville. Had Shrimp Pho with rice noodles in a nice broth. Typical accompaniments. Menu is pretty large and has some interesting items. We shared an appetizer with Goi Cuon, shrimp rolls, and egg/spring rolls. All were good. Sparkling lemonade drink was very refreshing. As the restaurant is brand new, they don't accept credit cards yet. Service left something to be desired. Waiter didn't know if chicken was white or dark meat. A few tables sat uncleared for awhile. Another waiter didn't know what fish sauce was??? But the food was good; atmosphere is very nice; and there aren't too many choices for Pho in the area. Prices are rather high compared to most Pho places, however. $8.00 for a large bowl.
