Vietnamese - Chinese food

I am a pho hound and often frequent Golden Deli and Pho Hien in the SGV. Golden Deli also has wonderful entries with shrimp paste, banh mi, etc. in addition to pho and I highly recommend them. As a note to hounds, I noticed a sign saying they will closed for vacation 1/10/06-2/10/06 (it is a bit in advance, but hey.)

Recently I tried Chinese/Vietnamese food in the Bay Area (Saigon has the largest Chinatown on Earth) and was looking for the same kind of thing down here. I tried a place called Tai Siu in Rosemead (nothing special on San Gabriel in Rosemead) It was decent but my catfish was just alright and it wasn't the cleanest place I've been to: the large fish in their tank of goldfish that was swimming upside down was a definite downer. Any suggestions for good Vietnamese / Chinese food in LA?
