Drove by the old Victor's Deli (Franklin and Bronson) when I saw some construction going on. Stopped and asked.
The worker (foreman, I'd guess) said "a new restaurant."
Intrepid reporter that I am, I pressured him for the name.
"Le Pain," he answered, carefully spelling it out, perhaps because I wasn't wearing a beret and smoking a Gauloise.
From this, I infer Le Pain Quotidien. Not because I'm psychic, but because I'd heard that the mini-chain was interested in the space.
The good news/bad news, depending on your feeling toward them: he says they won't be open for six months!
