Vicentes (review)

Had the pleasure of dining here with a party of two other people last week. We shared most of what we ordered - here are my recollections:

Pea Soup w/ Lobster: This was a special on the day we went. It was excellent - what stood out most was tasting the freshness of the peas.

Beet Salad w/ buffalo mozzerella: I'm not big on beets, so I didn't try them, but the buffalo mozzerella was a different matter entirely. I don't think I've ever had cheese this good in my life, ever. The inside of each piece had the texture and consistency of cottage cheese. Magnificent.

Lasagnette with green beans, pesto & cheese fondue: Very tasty and a bit larger than the name would imply, great presentation.

Bowtie Pasta w/ shrip scampi, zucchini & carrots: Very flavorful. Best part (for me) was tasting the shrimp ONLY when there was a piece in my mouth. Personnaly I hate ordering pasta w/ seafood and having all the pasta taste like the seafood.

Desert - Gelato / Sorbet assortment: green apple Sorbet (delicious), chocolate gelato (good, but I've had better), hazzlenut gelato (outstanding - simply heavenly).

A bit on the pricey side. If memory serves, pastas are around $14-$18, other entrees $20 - $38, salads about $9 - $12 and deserts $9.
