Sunday with the clan. What to do? What to see? Suddenly we're in Hollywood walking Hollywood and Highland. Whew! And I like Rube Goldberg type constructs. Vert. Wow! I forget how good this place can be. Breads are okay today but varied and served with wonderful goat's cheese and olive oil. Fritto Misto are so delicate and served with a wonderful aioli. Heirloom tomato salad for $10 is large and flavorful with small rounds of mozzarella. We order a solid 2000 Chianti for $38 (Querzacella, maybe.) I have the Veal Marsala in a veal stock that is just right for $22. The others have the prime NY for $36 and the Sole for $18. Both are generous and the steak lives up to it's pedigree. Dessert is a true molten chocolate truffle cake and a lovely strawberry shortcake with a light biscuit and mascarpone cream. We spent $150 before tip for three but we didn't have to. Many good wines by the glass. We ordered too much food. I wish this place we're closer to the Westside. $2 to park with validation.
P.S. And we heard about Wolfgang's new steakhouse opening next year in the Regent Beverly Wilshire.
