Venturing back, guidance sought

We are lovers of New Orleans, especially the wonderful food, and have traveled to you every year or so for decades. This will be our first visit post Katrina, weekend of May 20, and we are a little unsure of what to expect. Guidance would be SO appreciated! We are staying at the Holiday Inn, Superdome, 330 Loyola Ave. (not by choice, because of a tournament taking place there) and understand we can walk to the French Quarter. I believe there may also be a shuttle, but we like walking unless there is any reason not to do so. We would like you to suggest options for dinners Friday and Saturday nights, preferably in casual, not much more than fifteen dollars an entree spots, featuring regional cuisine. Making a reservation for Friday night would be fine, but not workable on Saturday because we are unsure when we will be finished playing. We will need reasonably quickly obtained take out lunches Saturday and Sunday, as in poboys, muffulettas, open to other ideas, that can be brought back to the hotel. Is Central Market operational? In past years we have enjoyed Bayona, Irene's, Mr. B's, Nola, Acme.
