venice restaurant update

I am just back from my trip to Venice.Let me first thank all of you who responded to my request for restaurant ideas. Despite being told I would never get in Alle Testiere or Da Fiore on a few days notice , thanks to the concierge at Luna Baglioni(fabulous)I got in both. Thank you to Umberto! On to the food. Let me first say that I have travelled to quite a few places and have enjoyed many fine restaurants. Venice is a beautiful , wonderful city but i would not go there for the food. Very expensive and nothing to write home about. Da Fiore is a beautiful restaurant, nice romantic setting. We had two great antipastas, sea bass, and risotto. All were good but not great. The wine was very good and reasonable. The service was attentive.Overall we had a nice meal for under 200 euro. I do get the sense that its glory days are behind it but it was full. Alle Testiere is a very small place not far from the square. I personally dont get all the rave reviews that claim its the best food in Venice. Its good but certainly nothing to rave about.
