I'm co-hosting a shower this weekend and can control only half of the menu. It's a 4 pm gathering for 20 people w/ heavy snacks. The other host is bringing a lasagna, chips with black bean dip, and mini-cheesecakes. I had a rather different vision of the menu for my very foodie friend's shower, but I am now trying to complete the menu.
I strongly prefer finger food, and so I'm thinking gougeres, delicate cookies (double chocolate and gingersnaps) maybe w/ some fruit, and then something that is lighter and involves veggies. I could do a simple platter of olives, crudite, pita triangles and homemade hummus, but I'd like to elevate this a little. The honoree throws wonderful, elegant parties, and I'd like to give her some of the same. Any thoughts? Thanks!
