I'm supposed to bring the vegetarian part of a meal, for which the birthday boy has requested crab cakes (San Francisco-style, dungeness) and cornmeal-breaded fried oysters. Being a life-long vegetarian, I have no idea what sort of flavors would go with either of those.
Ideas? I know they like my Indian food, and my Thai coconut curries. Would those overwhelm? Maybe a soup? I know the birthday boy is a fan of simple country food like pots of beans. Could that work?Main vs side dish distinction irrelevant, ovo-lacto welcome. Thanks in advance!
