The Heavenly Loft on Duckworth Street in St. John's has only been open a few months. This small vegetarian restaurant has a loyal and growing following. Four of us dropped in last night on our way to a Christmas event at the nearby LSPU Hall. I explained to the very polite waiter/maitre d'/bus boy/co-owner that we had 25 minutes to order, be served, eat and pay, and asked if it was possible. He thought for a split second and told me he'd advise us what to order and it could be done. We stayed and were glad we did.

We ordered spring rolls, Singapore noodles and a lotus seed bun. All were good and what was going out to the other tables, the 20 seat dining room was 3/4 full, looked even better. Way better. There was complementary tea and carrot-sweet potato soup that was perfect for the cold wet night.

I heartily recommend the Heavenly Loft and commit to going back again soon to try that delicious and delicate looking order of deep-fried enoki mushrooms! A better eview is sure to follow. Stay tuned!
