I grew up in a vegetarian family, but I have since lapsed into omnivorousness. However, I still have a soft spot for vegetarian meats, not so much as a substitute, but for their own merits - no tendons, no weird crunchy bits, no slimy pockets of fat. And no residual guilt.

We used to go to Silver Moon on Clement, which has long since disappeared. I have tried several other vegetarian chinese places, and while some have one or two good dishes, I still haven't found another Silver Moon. Some are too health-oriented - I want salty, crispy, sweet, and spicy, not brown rice with steamed tofu!

Any recommendations?

Cheers
Brian
