The lovely lady who emigrated from Saigon Sammich to open her new and delicious sandwich place at Larkin/Eddy has my dream come true -- vegetarian/fish banh mi sandwiches! I'm not much of a meat eater so I have long dreamed of a tofu banh mi. She has them, plus egg, tuna, cheese and other non-meat items.
I'm going to go try them later -- anyone got any experience with them? Is one better than another?
PS I dropped the ball a little bit on planning the Viet food tour of the loin. I'm *going* to do it, I just got really busy last week so I couldn't plan anything right then. Will be soon, promise!
