A friend who's a serious winer has invited me to a Bordeaux tasting this weekend, and asked me to bring a vegetable dish for the occasion. We taste the wine alone, and then with food. He's warned me against anything with asparagus or artichokes, so those are off limits. I've looked at my recipes and drawn a blank, so am looking for some creative ideas. I need to transport it, and may not have a lot of time to heat it at his place, so something that could be served lukewarm would be great.
