vegas reviews

just got back from long weekend in vegas... here is a quick report

dinner ... wolfgang puck at MGM... very disappointed. Not much taste and quite expensive for what it was. Have always loved going there for lunch, but dinner is quite different and not nearly as good.

brunch... Bellagio buffet... not a big buffet fan, but it was good. lots to choose from, quite fresh and good service. Enjoyed several of the items, but loved it more that I got my breakfast fix, and hubby, not a fan of breakfast, was still content with his choices.

dinner... fiamma at MGM.... i don't even know where to begin with this one. Let's start by saying that Hannah Montana was playing there this weekend, so there were countless pre-teens in pnk, glitter and giddyness everywhere... including running around the restaurant. but let's start at the beginning, that even with reservations, waited over 20 minutes and were seated at same time as walk ups. another 15 mins for menus. waiter was quite odd and hesitate to list the specials since our menus were closed. we ordered, and then finally got our water. had to ask three times for water. got an appetizer of calamari... let's just say it was like eating a bowl of salt, luke warm greasy salt at that. In all my years, I can't recall when I have ever sent a dish back to the kitchen. i believe i told the waiter is was inedible. then 45 minutes later we got our entree. just okay. not wowed, could have done better for 1/3 the cost anywhere else. The waiter never came to check on us. Had to continue to ask for my water to be refilled. All this while a table of 7 pre-teens behind us were quite loud and singing what I can only guess would be hannah montana songs. at least the waiter did take the calamari off our bill, but $9 for a soda seemed a little high. would not recommend or ever go again.

lunch.. burger bar... yum! love this place. walked right up to the bar and was seated right away at 12:30 on a sunday. place was busy, but bartender was attentive to us. hubby and i each had the classic burger.

dinner... rosemarys.... i love this place. got concerned when by 1pm i had not gotten a confirmation call. so i called and they had mistaking put me on the wrong day. They were beyond kind and were able to get us a 7pm reservation. (even patient when phone disconnected twice on her too). decided to do a la carte this time. so we each did 2 apps and desert which was more than enough. excellent ceasar salad and salmnon carpaccio. hubby had bbq shrimp and salmon carpaccio. dessert was goat cheese cheesecake and coconut bread pudding. both yummy. glad we saved the best for last.
