I will be going with a group of friends to Las Vegas in mid-week, mid-February for 4 nights. We'll be something like 9 adults, and 4 or so kids under 10. The parents are willing to get sitters at the hotel so we can go to a nicer place one evening or two, and we figure we can break into smaller groups if needed.
When I suggested that we make some reservations now, I was told "oh don't worry, we can do that through the concierge at the hotel." Can one, in fact do that with a reasonable expectation that you'd get in to places like Prime, Charlie Palmer's, The Venetian Italian (on W. Sahara), etc? I would imagine that large groups might have trouble at the last minute.
Also, since we will have small kids, can anyone recommend some good "with kids" places for dinner? Is Lotus of Siam good for kids?
Most of these folks are not adventurous eaters, and tend to enjoy the "Wow, Martha, you get soup, salad, coke, baked potato or fries, choice of vegetable AND pudding" places far more than places where everyone gets a different vegetable depending on what they ordered.
They are willing to spend money if good value is perceived, even at the highest end of the spectrum, but have really low tolerance for "precious".
thanks so much!
