hey, chowhounds -- i'm the travel editor at the boston globe, looking for help with a story i'm reporting and writing on the vegas dining scene. not the celebrity-chef places from other parts of the country. i'm trying to pursue the question of "what is AUTHENTIC vegas food?" i'm taking my first (can you believe it?) trip there in may, and i know some places i'm going to check out -- peppermill, bob taylor's ranch house, el sombrero, golden steer, venetian among them -- but i'd love other ideas. i'm also looking for ideas for good sources in vegas: folks who know their food history, or are at least entertaining. thanks!
