My husband and I are two vegans in our (very, sigh) late 30's, who appreciate great food, top ingredients, a good wine selection and perfect ambiance (preferably all of the above combined...). Arriving in London next week for 6 days. It will be our first trip to London. I made several dinner reservations, but somehow am not sure I made the right choices. Your input will be highly appreciated.
We are NOT looking for vegan restaurants at all. Protein is not our thing really... Mainly looking for good wine and bread as well as satisfying vegetable dishes served in great atmosphere. Will be staying in Shoreditch (hubby in town for business), but are looking for places in central London.
This is what I came up with so far, based on recommendations I read/received from friends -
Saturday late night (flying in late) - the Ivy
Sunday morning - the Wolseley
Sunday evening - early drinks at the Connaugt bar and dinner at Coya
Monday evening - Dishoom @ kings cross
Tuesday - Andrew Edmunds (followed maybe by late night jazz and drinks)
Wednesday - Hakkasan Hanway place
Thursday morning - the Coburg @ the Connaught (we intend to walk in)
Still haven't made plans for lunch.
In addition to the above, I heard great things about Ffiona's and I plan to pay Damson & co a spontaneous visit. As far as coffee goes, I have a LONG list and am determined to try them all out :)
What do you think?
Is Coya that worthy or can/should I make a reservation to Ffiona's instead? I also fancy Kitty Fisher's, though I realize our options will be limited (also spoke to Andrew Edmund's about options and I think we will be just fine there). Ideas for a brilliant lunch in Thursday?
Am I missing anything? Btw - these are the only meals we will be having together, beside maybe one breakfast at Franze & Evans in Shoreditch.
Any thoughts whatsoever? Many thanks in advance!
