We just got back from a quick trip to Montreal. My husband and I are both vegan and I'm also gluten-free.
Crudessence was busy, had good service, delicious food, and reasonable portions. I had the quinoa with veggies, my husband had the falafel.
Fuchsia Epicerie Fleur was also busy. The vegan/GF version of Saturday brunch included hot apple cider, roasted potatoes, salad, and a lentil, zucchini, tomato, mushroom stew followed by chocolate/rose petal cookies fresh from the oven. Food was delicious and portions reasonable. Live music and the resident white wolf added to the atmosphere. Not for anyone in a hurry. Hours of operation tend to vary according to a frequent diner with whom we shared a table.
Lola Rosa was also busy. Food was excellent and portions reasonable. I had curry and my husband had Tunisian ragout.
Le Commensal was also busy but had lots of seating. We'd eaten at one of their locations in another city. Lots of variety with all items labelled. Quite tasty.
We got groceries for breakfasts as we usually do when traveling (juice, tortilla chips, bananas, dates, and figs). We walked and traveled by Metro.
