I won't be long, because I'm really bad at describing my meals, and anyway, you've all been to these places already!
I followed some recent conversations and researched past threads, and chose to try out the Helmand, Ti Couz and Golden Era while in town for the show. Found all three to be tasty, reasonably priced, with good service (Ti Couz gave us the wrong cheese on our cheese plate, but we decided not to bother complaining; four different servers at the Helmand approached us for our dessert order before they started communicating -- I think they wanted to turn over the table) and generally pleasant experiences. We will definitely go back to Golden Era; probably the other two as well.
Also found the Jug Shop, Berkeley Bowl (could live without it), Pasta Shop (pretty decent cheese department -- we've been to the Cheeseboard before, but couldn't get an update as they were closed for the holiday). So thanks, SF chowhounds!
