A friend and I are thinking of driving up to Kleinburg on the weekend to go to McMichael and I'm trying to figure out where we should eat. It doesn't need to be near the museum, anywhere in a wide swath around Kleinburg and heading back toward the city through Vaughn/Kleinberg/North York would be fine.
It seems like there should be some gems up there that would be worth visiting even if we weren't already going to be there and that we definitely shouldn't miss if we're going to be there. I've done some searching back through older threads and picked out a few recommendations, but it's hard to tell whether they're in the vein of 'this place is awesome and you should definitely go there' or 'well, if you're in the area and you have to eat, this isn't a bad choice'.
It looks like Cookie Crumble Cafe in Kleinburg might have potential for a snack/drink, but maybe not so much for a meal.
In Woodbridge, Ricci's for pizza or Vicentina for sandwiches seem like possibilities. The pictures on the Vicentina website are kind of making me salivate, but they only have a lunch menu, so I don't know if the sandwich bar is even open later in the day.
Another option that's a little closer in, but still on the way home might be Plaza Latina -- not sure how late it is open, either, since I get the impression it's more of a lunch spot. I've been there a couple of times, and would be happy to go back if we don't find a new alternative.
What else would you put on a list of places to visit in the Northwest corner of the city?
